LEGISLATIVE Maximum contribution for individuals is $1,000 ($2000 per couple) per candidate per year. There is no limit on contributions by political action committees. Corporations and entities are allowed to donate to political campaigns under South Dakota law and have the same donation limits as individuals. State law requires that we collect and report the names and addresses of contributors. Contributions from foreign nationals are prohibited by law. Donations are not deductible as charitable donations for federal income tax purposes.
